Environmental Policy
Contractors of Diamond Infratech Industries Private Limited are working under the company's environmental policy framework.
Training
Contractors supplying workforce at project sites must ensure that induction training is given to all workers before commencement of work. Contractors shall seek advice from the project in-charge for training arrangements.
Training Effectiveness Assessment
Contractors shall assess training effectiveness through supervisors by observing work practices. Feedback regarding additional training needs of workers should be provided to the project in-charge in the first week of each month.
Environmentally Sound Work Practices
- Waste Minimization: Raw materials such as cement, steel, sand, water, electricity, and diesel should be used efficiently to avoid wastage. Quality control is exercised in preparation, placement, and curing of concrete.
- Waste Management: Waste should be deposited in designated bins or locations.
- Noise Pollution Control: Workers must use appropriate PPEs when working near noisy equipment. Machinery should not be kept running idle.
- Air Pollution Control: PPEs must be used by workers in dusty areas. Dust generation should be minimized during transport and loading/unloading operations.
- Water Pollution Control: Wastewater should not be disposed into rivers, lakes, agricultural lands, or any place that may cause public nuisance.
- Nature Conservation: Disturbances such as tree cutting, soil excavation, water diversion, blasting operations, and access road development should be minimized.
Legal Compliance
- Diesel Generating Set Compliance: The stack height for DG sets shall meet CPCB norms: H = h + 0.2 × √KVA. Enclosures must ensure a maximum permissible sound level of 75 dB(A) at 1 meter distance (Environment Protection Second Amendment Rules, 2002).
- Transport Vehicles: All transport vehicles must possess a valid PUC certificate as per the Central Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
- Lead Acid Batteries: Used batteries should be collected and handed over only to registered dealers/recyclers (as per Battery Management and Handling Rules).
- Hazardous Waste Management: Contractors must obtain authorization from the State Pollution Control Board for handling hazardous wastes, as per the Hazardous Waste Management & Handling Rules, 1989 (amended).
